Morgan Murphy

B.S. in Chemistry: College of Saint Benedict, 2020

Morgan grew up in Eagan, MN and pursued her undergraduate degree in chemistry at the College of Saint Benedict. There, she pursued research under the guidance of Dr. Annette Raigoza working on the functionalization of gold nanoparticles with organic ligands. Morgan also had the opportunity to study abroad in South Africa while at CSB, and participated in a summer research program at North Dakota State University. While at NDSU, she worked with Dr. Dean Webster synthesizing pre-polymers to be utilized as anti-fouling marine coatings. Morgan then made the wise decision to seek out warmer winters and cooler chemistry and enrolled in PSU in Fall of 2020. Morgan joined the Elacqua group in 2021, where she will work on synthesizing new and unique polymers using various methods. In her free time, Morgan loves to swim, refurnish furniture, and start artsy projects!
