Josh Sangalli

B.A. in Biochemistry and Computer Science: Austin College, 2024

Josh hails from Texas and pursued his undergraduate degree in chemistry at Austin College. While there, Josh performed research in the lab of Dr. Andy Carr synthesizing bisurea organogelators. Josh first ventured to Penn State as part of the REU program at PSU in 2023, where he worked towarrd the photoredox dimerization of active methylene compoounds. Josh then enrolled in our Ph.D. program in the fall of 2024 and joined our group in the Spring of 2025. Josh is workring in our catalysis subgroup, where his interests lie in organic photoredox systems.  Outside of the lab, Josh likes to rock climb, watch F1, and play board games. He is also a big fan of Star Wars and his favorite class is quantum chemistry.
