Anna Griggs

Major: Chemistry

​

Anna was born in Fort Bragg, NC and currently resides in State College (after moving 6 times) where she joined the Penn State Community in 2019. Anna expressed an interest in joining the Elacqua group while taking organic chemistry, and started research shortly thereafter in summer of 2021. Anna is working alongside Steve on the synthesis and application of single-chain polymer photoredox catalysts, as well as with our college's LEAP program. Long term, Anna endeavors to be a high school chemistry teacher. Outside of school and research, she works at Good Day Cafe as a Barista, and is a supervisor to those with mental, physical, and intellectual disabilities. Anna enjoys hiking with friends (and her puppy!), and trying new baking recipes every week! Fun fact: Anna loves epoxides!
